Spring Is A Condition (that makes bands release great music)

Don't let the April showers dampen your mood, those rains are replenishing the earth, from the earth grows some stuff, some of that stuff is later eaten by bands, who then record music using the energy given to them by the stuff (potatoes etc). Yes, Dear Reader, the first yield of the second crop is here.

As you no doubt know by now, "Regeneration" is released this Monday on limited edition vinyl, with "When The Sea Comes" being the b-side, or should that be C-side (seaside..when the SEA comes, yeah?).

Monday also sees the release of "Life Processes" by Forward Russia.
Now I'm not gonna get involved in a mutual band praise gush (Guru, I love you), as I respect you Dear Reader enough to try and offer an honest view of the work...suffice to say that I think it is a staggering album. Truly.
I've read quite polar reviews of the album (in terms of scores given and quality of review) which make for interesting yet quite frustrating reading. All I would say is that I think an album of such ambition and vision deserves your attention and your ears. You can hear the album in full at Last FM by clicking here, and you can make your own mind up.

Now onto a band working on their first crop, and in particular another dead good vinyl single which is soon for this world, "D.I.L.E.M.M.A" by Grammatics. It was produced by James over at Duels HQ and can be pre-ordered here. Check out their myspace to hear the single and some other tracks.
James is to record their debut album in the summer which I predict will be a really intriguing record, beautifully odd, and, as with the above, not lacking in ambition, I'll drink to that.
My remix of the single is underway, watch this space.

Hope you enjoy these releases, and hopefully see some of you in London or Leeds over the next two weeks
